Scholarships
In order to promote the mutual understanding, cooperation and exchanges in various fields between China and other countries, the Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship programs to sponsor international students, teachers and scholars to study and conduct research in Chinese universities. China Scholarship Council (CSC), entrusted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, is responsible for the enrollment and the administration of Chinese Government Scholarship programs. CSC Type-B Scholarship is a full scholarship for designated Chinese universities and certain provincial education offices in specific provinces or autonomous regions to recruit outstanding international students for graduate studies in China. It only supports graduate students and doctoral students.
Application Period:
From November until January 31st Note: Each university may set its own application period.
Scholarship duration:
- 2 academic years for master's degree students; - 4 academic years for doctoral students. Note: The duration of the subsidy is the length of study determined at the time of admission, including the duration of professional study and Chinese tutoring.
Scholarship Coverage:
1. Tuition fee: Fully covered 2. Accommodation fee: The school will provide free dormitories, usually double rooms. With the approval of the school, those who choose to live off campus can receive the accommodation fee issued by the school monthly or quarterly. The criteria are: - Graduates (general advanced students): 700 yuan/month - Doctoral students (advanced advanced students): 1000 yuan/month 3. Allowance/stipend: - Graduates and general advanced students: 3000 yuan/month (around USD $430) - Doctoral and advanced students: 3500 yuan/month (around USD $500) 4. Comprehensive medical insurance

The Beijing Scholarship for Foreign Students is a scholarship provided by the Beijing Municipal People's Government to the outside world. The purpose is to develop the scale of high-level foreign students in Beijing's universities and colleges, and promote the overall level of internationalization of Beijing's universities and colleges. In principle, the Beijing Scholarship for Foreign Students provides tuition subsidies for students who apply to study for master's and doctoral degrees in Beijing's colleges and universities.
Application Period:
Usually around March until June 30th. The scholarship results are announced in July. Note: Each university may set its own application period.
Scholarship Coverage:
- The Full scholarship covers 29,800 yuan of the tuition fees per year for Masters and Doctoral students only - The Partial scholarship covers 14,900 yuan of the tuition fees per year for Masters and Doctoral students only
Note: Please note that the scholarship coverage mentioned for the applicant's program is subject to change and may not cover the entire tuition fee. In the event that the tuition fee exceeds the scholarship coverage, the applicant will be responsible for paying the difference themselves. We advise all applicants to thoroughly review the scholarship terms and conditions before applying and to budget accordingly for any potential expenses not covered by the scholarship.
